Champions of Change for Young Women and Youth
Growing Up Uganda is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of young women, girls, and youth grappling with the intersections of HIV and AIDS and poverty in Mityana through increasing their access to Health, education, entrepreneurship and provide skills training.
The organization focuses on key thematic areas which include health promotion and nutrition promotion programs, Education, skilling and entrepreneurship development and leadership training aiming at reducing their vulnerability and enable them reach their full potential. Other projects include improving water, hygiene and sanitation, child and maternal health, sexual and reproductive health using a network of HEAL (Health, Entrepreneurship and Leadership) Ambassadors both in schools and communities.

From Determination to Transformation
The Story of Growing Up Uganda
Growing Up Uganda was founded by Ssekajoolo Mathew in 2017, in Mityana, Uganda. The founder of the organization was determined to address the challenges girls in rural areas face during their periods as a result of the team started the organizing Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) information and production of Imperial Reusable Sanitary Pads among others.
Inspired and committed to transforming the lives of vulnerable young girls in rural communities Growing Up Uganda was created and now a full operating as a non-profit organization.

Growing Up Uganda has a dynamic, vibrant and purpose led team of individuals committed to promote women health and social development across Uganda and beyond driven by a belief that every girl and woman deserves to prosper in life and live with dignity .
