Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Awareness
Knowledge is Power. Protecting Health and Rights
Empowering Girls and Boys with Accurate Information
It is evident that limited access to Sexual Reproductive Health Rights in Uganda has had effects on the health and wellbeing of girls and young women. As a response we have designed activities where girls in schools can access SRHR information and knowledge. In addition we engage different stakeholders about the challenges of reproductive health faced by teenagers of school going age aimed at empowering them with the right information about puberty and behavioral change in general as well as how they can keep themselves safe from teenage pregnancy and child marriage.
Focus Area
One of our key initiatives is the establishment of school health clubs, designed to provide safe, supportive environments where girls can openly share and discuss issues related to their sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR). These clubs are vital in promoting knowledge, reducing stigma, and fostering mutual respect among students
Key activities and focus areas of the school health clubs include
- Educate girls on puberty, reproductive health, and self-care.
- Run school health clubs as safe spaces for open discussions.
- Involve boys in menstrual health education to foster understanding and support.
